We just had an emergency intake from San Michel, which is up in the
mountains. Her name is Dalancia Baptiste. She was born on August 11, 2008, so
she's almost 8 months old. Her mother just died and her father can't take care of
her. She is still on formula and he can't afford it. She appears to be a quite listless
and malnourished.
We took her on faith that people in the US would help. She doesn't have any
clothes or bedding or anything, except what is on her back. We are asking for
multiple sponsors for her because it will be very expensive to take care of her for
the next 6 months and get her healthy. It will cost us easily $75 a month for the next
6 months to take care of her, after an initial outlay of $250 for a month's worth of
food, clothes, and bedding. I'm not sure about diapers yet. Also she is the
grand-niece of Joseph Solius, the preacher at the Plan du Nord Church of Christ
and grad of the Bible School and a personal friend.
Please pray for her and if you don't have a kid to sponsor, please consider at
least partially sponsoring Danlancia. Anyone interested is welcome to e me (bob,

We have had a large one time donation and another couple
from West Virginia has decided to sponsor Dalancia! God has taken
care of another one of his kids!!! Also thanks to those who asked
after we have sufficient sponsors for her!
Update May 1, 2009
Dalancia is doing well. She is going through a lot of milk, but that's a good sign.
She has been to the doctor and had a myriad of tests run and they have all turned
out negative so far. Updated pics to your left. Please continue to pray for her.

Dalancia keeps getting better. She loves the stimulation that comes when you
take her out of her crib. Look at the 2 below pics of her with Annette, a visitor from
the West End Church of Christ in Nashville.

First of all, somehow I got her name wrong, it's Dalancia, not Nanlancia. Don't
know how that happened but it did and I apologize. Second of all, Dalancia was sick
but now she is better. The last pic on the bottom at the right shows Guerdine
holding her.
